Electrical connections are essential in electric fencing: a single bad connection can mean that beyond the connection there is no trace of a shock – or only a very reduced one.

Connections should be made of galvanised (ideally hot-dip galvanised) material or stainless steel, and each connection should be screwed. Poor material can rust, rust has an insulating effect, the flow of electricity is impeded and the fence voltage decreases.
